What is Retatrutide?
Retatrutide (also spelled retratitude, retuatide, retatrtide) is the newest generation of incretin research peptide — a triple agonist hitting GLP-1, GIP and glucagon receptors. It is currently the most powerful compound in the class.
How Retatrutide works
Semaglutide is a single agonist (GLP-1). Tirzepatide is a dual agonist (GLP-1 + GIP). Retatrutide adds a third receptor — glucagon — which raises energy expenditure alongside the appetite-suppression effects of the other two. That third mechanism is why Retatrutide research has produced the largest weight-loss numbers in the class to date.
Retatrutide vs Tirzepatide vs Semaglutide
- Semaglutide — GLP-1 only. Established, well-studied, moderate weight-loss effect.
- Tirzepatide — GLP-1 + GIP. Larger effect than Semaglutide in head-to-head data.
- Retatrutide — GLP-1 + GIP + glucagon. Highest reported weight-loss effect; still in late-stage trials.
