Adamax is built on the short peptide backbone shared by the Semax family — an analogue of ACTH(4-10), the seven-residue fragment of adrenocorticotropic hormone — with an adamantyl modification added.

Adamantane is a rigid cage-shaped hydrocarbon used across medicinal chemistry specifically because of how it changes a molecule's physical behaviour. It is bulky, chemically stable and strongly lipophilic.

• Increases lipophilicity — changes how the molecule distributes
• Adds steric bulk — typically slows enzymatic degradation
• Leaves the underlying amino acid sequence intact
• Used in approved drug chemistry for the same stability reasons

In other words, the modification is a pharmacokinetic change rather than a new mechanism. That is a meaningful distinction: it does not automatically mean a stronger or different effect, only a differently behaving molecule.

The Semax/Selank family is studied in relation to BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) expression and neuromodulatory signalling. Adamax is generally discussed in that context by association with its parent structure rather than on the strength of an independent dataset.

There is very little peer-reviewed research on Adamax specifically. Compared to Semax — which has decades of published Russian-language work behind it — Adamax is effectively an early-stage research compound. We would rather say that clearly than repeat marketing claims.

• Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial.
• Swirl gently until dissolved and clear — never shake.

• Store at 2–8°C, protected from light, and use within 28 days.
