PE-22-28 UK — Spadin Analogue & TREK-1 Research Guide
PE-22-28 is a shortened analogue of spadin, a peptide derived from the propeptide of sortilin. It is one of very few research peptides with a clearly identified ion-channel target: the TREK-1 potassium channel.
This page covers what TREK-1 is, why blocking it is of research interest, and how PE-22-28 differs from the Semax/Selank nootropic family.
For in vitro research use only — not for human or animal consumption. Not a licensed medicine in the UK. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
What is PE-22-28?
Spadin is a 17-amino-acid peptide generated during sortilin maturation. PE-22-28 is a seven-residue fragment of that sequence, retaining the region responsible for TREK-1 binding while being far simpler to synthesise.
TREK-1 and why it is studied
TREK-1 is a two-pore-domain potassium channel expressed widely in the central nervous system. Published research has examined TREK-1 blockade in neuroplasticity and mood-signalling models, which is the basis of research interest in spadin analogues.
This literature is preclinical. PE-22-28 is not a licensed medicine anywhere and is supplied for in vitro research use only.
How it differs from Semax, Selank and Adamax
Semax, Selank and Adamax are short peptides discussed in relation to broad neuromodulatory and BDNF-associated signalling. PE-22-28 has a specific, named molecular target — a single ion channel — which makes it a more precisely defined research tool.

What is TREK-1?
TREK-1 is a two-pore-domain potassium channel found throughout the central nervous system. Spadin and its analogues, including PE-22-28, are studied as blockers of that channel in preclinical neuroplasticity research.
Is PE-22-28 legal in the UK?
PE-22-28 is legal to buy and possess in the UK for laboratory research purposes. It is not a licensed medicine in the UK, is not prescribed by the NHS, and is supplied strictly for in vitro research use only — not for human or animal consumption.
How is PE-22-28 reconstituted?
PE-22-28 is supplied lyophilised. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently — never shake, as agitation can damage the peptide chain. Once dissolved, store at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. Use our free peptide calculator for exact volumes rather than following generic charts.
Do you supply a Certificate of Analysis for PE-22-28?
Yes. Every batch is independently HPLC and mass-spec tested and the batch number on the vial matches a published Certificate of Analysis, so purity can be verified before use.
How fast is UK delivery?
Stock is held in the UK. Orders placed before 2pm Monday–Friday are dispatched the same working day by Royal Mail Tracked 24 with photo confirmation, in discreet plain packaging with no product names on the outside.
