What is PE-22-28?
Spadin is a 17-amino-acid peptide generated during sortilin maturation. PE-22-28 is a seven-residue fragment of that sequence, retaining the region responsible for TREK-1 binding while being far simpler to synthesise.

TREK-1 is a two-pore-domain potassium channel expressed widely in the central nervous system. Published research has examined TREK-1 blockade in neuroplasticity and mood-signalling models, which is the basis of research interest in spadin analogues.
