Selank UK — Tuftsin Analogue Research Guide

Tuftsin is a four-residue fragment of immunoglobulin G with documented immunomodulatory activity. Selank attaches a Pro-Gly-Pro tail to that fragment, which markedly slows enzymatic degradation.

The result is a short peptide that survives long enough in solution to be studied, retaining tuftsin's core sequence.

Published preclinical work examines Selank in relation to GABAergic signalling, BDNF expression and monoamine turnover, and it has been studied in anxiolytic models without the sedation profile associated with benzodiazepines.

Most of that literature originates from Russian research groups. It is preclinical and clinical research data reported here for context only — Selank is not a licensed medicine in the UK.

Both are short, stabilised peptides from the same research lineage. Semax derives from ACTH(4-10) and is most often studied in cognitive and neuroprotective models; Selank derives from tuftsin and is most often studied in anxiolytic and immunomodulatory models.
