What is Thymosin Alpha-1?
Tα1 is a defined 28-residue acetylated peptide. It is one of the few thymic peptides with an internationally published mechanistic literature, and it is licensed as a medicine (thymalfasin) in a number of countries outside the UK.

Immune signalling research
The published mechanistic work centres on Toll-like receptor signalling — particularly TLR2 and TLR9 — on dendritic cell maturation, and on downstream T-cell differentiation.

Tα1 vs TB-500 vs Thymalin
Thymosin Alpha-1 and Thymosin Beta-4 share a historic name from the same thymus fraction but are unrelated in sequence and function. TB-500 is the Tβ4 fragment studied around actin binding and tissue repair.
Thymalin is a thymus peptide complex, not a defined sequence. If a page treats all three as interchangeable, treat the rest of its information with caution.
