TB-500

TB-500 UK — Thymosin Beta-4, Actin Binding & Research Use

Also known as Thymosin Beta-4 fragment

TB-500 is a synthetic peptide corresponding to the active region of Thymosin Beta-4, a naturally occurring protein found in most human cells and in high concentration in wound fluid and platelets.

It is the most-cited counterpart to BPC-157 in the tissue-repair research literature, though the two act through entirely different mechanisms.

For in vitro research use only — not for human or animal consumption. Not a licensed medicine in the UK. Nothing on this page is medical advice.

What is TB-500?

Thymosin Beta-4 is a 43-amino-acid protein. TB-500 reproduces the short active sequence responsible for its actin-binding property, which makes it easier to synthesise and more stable than the full protein while retaining the property of research interest.

Actin regulation and cell migration

Actin is the cytoskeletal protein that gives cells their structure and enables them to move. Thymosin Beta-4 is one of the main actin-sequestering proteins in the body — it binds monomeric actin and regulates how readily it polymerises.

Preclinical literature associates TB-500 with cell migration, angiogenesis and downregulation of inflammatory signalling in injury models. This is research context, not medical guidance.

TB-500 vs BPC-157

BPC-157 acts largely through growth-factor and vascular signalling pathways. TB-500 acts on the cytoskeleton and cell motility. Because they intersect at different points, research protocols frequently run them together rather than choosing between them.

Handling and storage

Supplied lyophilised. Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water added slowly down the vial wall, never shake, then refrigerate at 2–8°C and use within 28 days.

Frequently asked questions

Is TB-500 the same as Thymosin Beta-4?

No. TB-500 is a synthetic fragment reproducing the active actin-binding region of Thymosin Beta-4, rather than the complete 43-amino-acid protein.

Is TB-500 legal in the UK?

TB-500 is legal to buy and possess in the UK for laboratory research purposes. It is not a licensed medicine in the UK, is not prescribed by the NHS, and is supplied strictly for in vitro research use only — not for human or animal consumption.

How is TB-500 reconstituted?

TB-500 is supplied lyophilised. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently — never shake, as agitation can damage the peptide chain. Once dissolved, store at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. Use our free peptide calculator for exact volumes rather than following generic charts.

Do you supply a Certificate of Analysis for TB-500?

Yes. Every batch is independently HPLC and mass-spec tested and the batch number on the vial matches a published Certificate of Analysis, so purity can be verified before use.

How fast is UK delivery?

Stock is held in the UK. Orders placed before 2pm Monday–Friday are dispatched the same working day by Royal Mail Tracked 24 with photo confirmation, in discreet plain packaging with no product names on the outside.
