Thymalin UK — Thymus Peptide Bioregulator Guide
Also known as Thymus peptide bioregulator
Thymalin is a peptide preparation originally isolated from calf thymus tissue and studied within the Russian peptide bioregulator programme, the same research lineage that produced Epithalon.
This guide explains what a bioregulator actually is, what the published Thymalin research reports, where the evidence stops, and how the compound is handled in a laboratory setting.
For in vitro research use only — not for human or animal consumption. Not a licensed medicine in the UK. Nothing on this page is medical advice.
What is a peptide bioregulator?
Peptide bioregulators are short peptide fractions originally extracted from specific animal tissues — thymus, pineal, vascular, cartilage — on the hypothesis that each tissue contains small regulatory peptides that influence gene expression in that same tissue type.
Thymalin sits in the thymus group. The thymus is where T-cells mature, and it involutes steadily with age, which is why thymic peptides became a focus of Russian immuno-gerontology research.
The published research, and its limits
Reported work covers immune-parameter changes in elderly cohorts and animal models, mostly published between the 1980s and 2000s in Russian-language journals.
That body of work has not been replicated in large independent Western trials, and the preparations used were tissue extracts rather than defined single sequences. Any supplier presenting Thymalin as a proven immune therapy is overstating the record.
Thymalin vs Thymosin Alpha-1
They are not the same molecule. Thymosin Alpha-1 is a single, fully defined 28-amino-acid sequence with a substantial international literature and an approved medicine status in some countries.
Thymalin is a peptide complex rather than one defined sequence, with a much narrower and more regionally concentrated evidence base. Comparing the two directly is misleading.
Handling and storage
Supplied lyophilised. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently until dissolved — never shake. Store reconstituted solution at 2–8°C and use within 28 days.
Use the peptide calculator to work out concentration rather than following a generic chart.

Is Thymalin the same as Thymosin Alpha-1?
No. Thymosin Alpha-1 is a single defined 28-amino-acid peptide with a large international research literature. Thymalin is a thymus peptide complex studied mainly within the Russian bioregulator programme. They are different preparations with very different evidence bases.
Is Thymalin legal in the UK?
Thymalin is legal to buy and possess in the UK for laboratory research purposes. It is not a licensed medicine in the UK, is not prescribed by the NHS, and is supplied strictly for in vitro research use only — not for human or animal consumption.
How is Thymalin reconstituted?
Thymalin is supplied lyophilised. Add bacteriostatic water slowly down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently — never shake, as agitation can damage the peptide chain. Once dissolved, store at 2–8°C and use within 28 days. Use our free peptide calculator for exact volumes rather than following generic charts.
Do you supply a Certificate of Analysis for Thymalin?
Yes. Every batch is independently HPLC and mass-spec tested and the batch number on the vial matches a published Certificate of Analysis, so purity can be verified before use.
How fast is UK delivery?
Stock is held in the UK. Orders placed before 2pm Monday–Friday are dispatched the same working day by Royal Mail Tracked 24 with photo confirmation, in discreet plain packaging with no product names on the outside.
